[NYSE: ARW], today announced its Alternative Technology group has signed an agreement with NComputing Inc., a leading provider of ultra-low-cost computing, to distribute NComputing’s X-series and L-series virtual desktops to resellers in North America.

With more than one million virtual desktops sold in the past two years, NComputing is a leading supplier of low-cost desktop virtualization solutions. NComputing’s products enable a single computer to be virtualized and shared between several users to significantly maximize capacity without inhibiting each user’s individual computing needs. The X-series virtual desktop solution from NComputing uses one watt of electricity, compared to 110 watts for each computer. The L-series connects across a standard Ethernet local-area network for users that are more than 10 meters away from the shared computer.
