Launch of NComputing L300 Delivers Low Cost VDI into the Enterprise and Redefines Price Performance for Thin Client and Zero Client Access Devices

Easy to deploy and low-power thin client in combination with vSpace Virtualization Software delivers on industry promise of the low cost rich multimedia VDI Solutions

Las Vegas, NV, April 26, 2010 — NComputing, Inc. the global leader in low-cost virtual desktops for Windows, Linux, VMware and Citrix, with over 20 million daily users, today announced the launch and immediate availability of the L300 access device based on the NComputing NumoTM family chip, a highly integrated and multimedia enhancing System-on-Chip (SoC). The L300, in combination with NComputing vSpace virtualization software delivers Windows virtual desktops and integrates seamlessly into Citrix and VMware VDI installations.

"The L300 delivers a high-quality virtual desktop that meets the needs of enterprise customers," said Bill Platt, Senior Vice President of Engineering at NComputing. "We designed and developed the L300 and vSpace software to allow customers to integrate into and extend their existing desktop environments including traditional desktop PCs, Citrix, VMware or a combination of them all. It is this pragmatic and interoperable approach that is required to deliver a low cost VDI deployment."

The L300 Ethernet virtual desktop builds on the success of the L series product line by delivering rich, full screen, full motion multimedia playback up to 1920x1080 resolution, transparent USB redirection, and simple but powerful deployment and management tools, making setup easy to deploy 4 workstations in a remote branch office or four thousand in a corporate office. The L300, in combination with NComputing vSpace virtualization software provides the high-quality virtual desktops that have already seen rapid adoption with more than 600,000 commercial deployments. The L300 zero client costs less than any other thin or zero client option in the marketplace and a quarter of the cost of desktop PCs. In combination with the NComputing vSpace Software, the L300 enables VDI solutions at one third the price of other offerings.

"The L300 propels disruptive economics for the desktop into the enterprise while delivering a rich multimedia experience that desktop users demand," said Stephen Dukker, Chairman and CEO of NComputing."We expect the L300 to expand the adoption of VDI in the enterprise and save over 75% in capital costs, 75% in operating costs and 90% in energy consumption compared to other fully deployed VDI client or desktop PCs. We are confident that the L300 will be so well received that we will give 1,000 devices to attendees at this week's Interop conference in Las Vegas."

"We have two successful deployments of NComputing products. The first being the X-Series for assembly instructions on the factory floor and the second being the L-series product in a much larger deployment in our printed circuit assembly department," said Jack Lukas Manufacturing Engineer of Ametek. "Each installation was easy to deploy and justify because of the product's features, low cost and minimal energy consumption. We are planning to more than double our deployment using the L300 largely because of its PC-quality fidelity, robust USB support and enterprise-class management console."

NComputing will be showing its low cost VDI solutions at this week’s Interop conference at Booth 2325 in Las Vegas. In addition, Stephen Dukker, CEO of NComputing, will be speaking on Revolutionizing VDI Economics on Tuesday, April 27 at 3:15pm-4:00pm in the Free ED Room M.B. #J.

NComputing's early success was in the education sector, where it most recently achieved 15% of U.S. K-12 desktop computing purchases. With the economic downturn, commercial enterprises such as banks, retailers, and manufacturers have increasingly turned to NComputing to help them cut computer purchase and maintenance costs. NComputing customers typically cut their PC acquisition costs by 75%, operating costs by 75% and electricity costs by 90%.

The NComputing solution takes advantage of the fact that today's PCs are so powerful that the vast majority of users only need a small fraction of the computing capacity. NComputing taps this unused capacity so that it can be simultaneously shared by many users. Each user's monitor, keyboard and mouse are connected to a small and highly reliable NComputing access device, which is then connected to the shared PC. NComputing's award-winning vSpace desktop virtualization software provides each user with a rich multimedia computing experience and their own computing session.
