FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NComputing Chairman and CEO Stephen Dukker to Present During VMworld 2008
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., August 28, 2008 – NComputing, the leading provider of desktop virtualization software and hardware, today announced that company Chairman and CEO Stephen Dukker will deliver an address on NComputing’s low-cost desktop virtualization solution at VMworld 2008, a leading virtualization conference and exhibition being held September 15th to 18th in Las Vegas. Mr. Dukker will describe how desktop virtualization has cut costs, simplified maintenance, and saved energy for businesses worldwide. The company has also enabled affordable computing access across the globe to more than 20,000 organizations in over 90 countries.
At VMworld, IT professionals, experts, and vendors gather and learn about new innovations in virtualization, exchange ideas, and share best practices. Last year, the event drew nearly 11,000 people. This year, attendees will choose from sessions offered by virtualization experts from companies like NComputing, Dell, IBM, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, and Hitachi Data Systems.
Dukker will deliver his presentation, “The $70 PC: One Million Virtual Desktops and Counting,” from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Thursday, September 18th in Solutions Exchange Theatre. NComputing will also demonstrate its low-cost desktop virtualization solution at Booth 855.
The NComputing solution is based on a simple fact: today's PCs are so powerful that the vast majority of applications only use a small fraction of the computer's capacity. NComputing's virtualization software and hardware tap this unused capacity so that it can be simultaneously shared by multiple users. Each user's monitor, keyboard, and mouse connect to the shared PC through a small and very durable NComputing access device. The access device itself has no CPU, memory or moving parts so it is rugged, durable, and easy to deploy and maintain -- especially critical in developing nations. NComputing software and hardware costs as little as $70 per seat.
